Master Programme International Migration and Intercultural Relations (IMIB)

International Migration and Intercultural Relations is an interdisciplinary studies programme spanning history, sociology, linguistics, education, geography, psychology, law, and religious science. The programme is meant for students with commensurate qualifications seriously interested in problems of international migration and intercultural relations. There will be an introduction to the different disciplinary approaches to migration research, followed by courses in the interdisciplinary fields of research: migration and social structures, migration and inter-ethnic relations, migration and cross-cultural relations, as well as theoretical and methodological problems of interdisciplinary and cross-cultural migration research. The programme comprises an intensive study period of approximately one and a half years, followed by a six-month period for the Master's thesis, supported by a specific internship.

Degree: Master of Arts (MA)
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters), academic year begins October
Admission Requirements: BA in any of the disciplines mentioned above, motivation letter
