International Cooperation

 diese Seite auf Deutsch

Via the interdisciplinary European ›Network of Excellence‹ IMISCOE (International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion in Europe) IMIS cooperates with the most important migration research institutes in Europe. IMISCOE is financed by the 6th EU-Framework Program.

Launched on 1 April 2004, IMISCOE is a network of more than 300 scientists from 19 research institutes that specialise in migration and integration issues in Europe. Theses researchers, who come from all branches of the social Sciences, the humanities and law, will implement an integrated, multidisciplinary, rigorously comparative research programme that focuses on Europe's migration and integration challenges. This cooperation will provide more knowledge on the causes and nature of international migration, settlement and integration of immigrants, and the consequences for societies in the receiving countries.

The IMISCOE website www.IMISCOE.org offers new and detailed information on the current research activities of the 19 partner institutes in Europe. It also publishes international call for papers as well as working papers on relevant migration and integration issues and allows for the consultation of an online-library containing recent publications of the partner institutes. Furthermore, it is possible to subscribe to a quarterly newsletter on the IMISCOE activities.

All IMISCOE publications (some 40 books) are free downloadable from the following link:
